Exhibition: October 8, 2025

Being born and living in a unique and diverse neighborhood, I’ve always been inspired by the colors, people, and feel of these streets I’ve walked down my whole life. I started creating art as a young kid, obviously it wasn’t very good but I fell in love with using drawing and painting to show what I saw and felt around me. For me, art is my way to get out what I’m feeling at the moment or to simply just funnel my creativity and passion into something I love. The works I’ve made and selected for this showing are full of color and life. Most pieces are done with acrylic, though some are made with other mediums, I find that each piece captures some feeling or emotion unique to its composition and pallets. I love using light and color to harness what I want every observer to feel when they look at these pieces. Though every work is a different emotion in my mind, the vibrancy and unique mood in all of them pulls everything together.

Title: Lighthoues

Sometimes life can feel very black and white so it feels good to bring some color into it all. When someone looks at my art, I hope they don’t just see what’s on the surface. I want them to wonder what else might be there. What I was thinking when I made  each piece? Maybe the colors remind them of a dream they had, or the shapes feel like a place they’ve been before. I think art is one of the best shots we’ve got at understanding each other beyond words. It can take you to a place in another’s world if you take a second glance. My hope is that these pieces open up your minds so you can think a little outside what you usually see. Right now in the world, there’s so much disagreement and hate, maybe all we need is a new perspective.
